October 18, 2012, Members of the Zonta Club of Lincoln attended the annual Fall Conference of Zonta International District 6. The conference entitled “From Membership to Leadership A Voyage of Discovery” took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from October 5 – 7, 2012. During the three-day meeting, women representing Zonta clubs from Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin gathered to conduct the business of the District and attend educational workshops to learn a problem-solving tool called Cause Mapping TM.

Attendees heard from Sharon Langenbeck, PhD, about the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship program. The Amelia Earhart Fellowship helps women, pursuing advanced studies in the typically male-dominate fields of aerospace-related sciences and engineering, achieve their educational goals. Langenbeck is chairman of the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship committee and former section manager for mechanical engineering at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Susan Harmon, President participated in the conference as the club’s voting delegate and Chris Huff attended as the alternate. Other members attending included Becky Werth.
