August 6, 2012, Story and slideshow By Nancy Saul, Lisa Linkman, of Knoxville, Ill., received Best of Show Awards for Hand Embroidery (sponsored by St. John United Church of Christ Stitchers Group), Holiday Crafts (sponsored by Beaches Boutique) and Counted Cross Stitch (sponsored by Serendipity Stitches). Jenna Michalsen presented her awards.
Ann Rademaker took the Best of Class award in the Residential Setting class. Lincoln’s Logan County Arts and Crafts Guild sponsored her award.

Beth Turley of Lincoln took Best of Show for her knitted bracelet. Her award was sponsored by Serendipity Stitches.
Sandy Wilkerson and her granddaughter, Katy VanSlambrouck, both of Lincoln, are keeping the Best of Show quilting awards in the family. Wilkerson, whose award was sponsored by Sew Personal Embroidery & Screen Printing, won in the Senior Citizen Division. Van Slambrouck, who received her award from Logan Railsplitting Association, won in the Textiles Made By Youth 12 Years and Younger Class.
Phyllis Martin of Lincoln has been entering projects in the fair for more than 40 years. She received the Best of Show award, sponsored by Serendipity Stitches, for her crochet work and the new Best Christmas Item Award, sponsored by the Dittus family in memory of their son, Victor Dittus, who always enjoyed Christmas.
Linda Crum of Waynesville took home Best of Show awards for Quilts (sponsored by Quilters at Heart) and Applique (sponsored by Log Cabin Quilt Shop).
Hannah Crider’s dress won the Best of Show award in Textiles by Youth 13-18. Darlene Begolka, at left, presented her award, which was sponsored by Begolka’s business, Stitches by Darlene.
Karen Williams took several Best of Show ribbons back to her Athens home. She received awards for Machine Embroidery (sponsored by Sew Personal Embroidery & Screen Printing), Recycled Jeans (sponsored by St. John United Church of Christ Stitchers Group), and the Evelyn Begolka Memorial Award for Plastic Canvas. Darlene Begolka, Evelyn Begolka’s daughter, at left, presented the awards.
Grace Wibben of Atlanta received the Best of Show award in the Purses, Totes and Bags class. Her award was sponsored by Log Cabin Quilt Shop.
Carla Ackerman of Lincoln received the Best of Show Award in the Miscellaneous Division for her doll clothing. Beaches Boutique sponsored her award.

Wil Buse of Beason took home the Best of Show Award for youth ages 10-12 for his wire and metal bovine figure. Lincoln College also sponsored his award.
