5K run for Annabelle March 9
March 6, 2013, The Mt. Pulaski Courthouse 5K Run On the Hill for Annabelle this Saturday morning (March 9th) will benefit the Darin & Amy Phillips family of Mt. Pulask, who lost their baby Annabelle, who had an inoperable brain tumor this past November, 2011. The family incurred extremely high expenses for Annabelle's surgical and hospice care during her short time alive. Runners and walkers of all levels are encouraged to show your support. Registration forms are available at the Mt. Pulaski Farmers Bank and on line at www.mtpulaskiil.com.
Check in begins at 8:30 am on the SW corner of the square by the famous Mt. Pulaski Courthouse, once the Logan County Seat on the Illinois 8th Judicial Circuit (1848-1855) and visited twice a year during that time by lawyers Abraham Lincoln, Judge David Davis, Stephen A. Douglas, Billy Herndon and others.
The courthouse is now an Illinois Historic Site and will be open for tours: Noon to 4 pm.
Also, the Holzwarth Flying Service will be offering Helicopter rides at $20 from 8:30 - Noon at Veterans Park north of the city just west of the Vonderlieth Living Center - weather permitting. All the money will be donated to the Annabelle Phillips Foundation.
Buff's Family Restaurant will be open and is located on the west side of the square at the start-finish line.
