Community organizing to help infant Annabelle Phillips and family
 | January 9, 2013, A 5k Run for Annabelle Phillips is being scheduled for March 9, 2013 at 10am beginning on the square in Mt. Pulaski. The run is being held to help raise money for the Phillips family of Mt. Pulaski whose infant daughter, Annabelle has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
Annabelle Phillips was born November 28, 2012 to, Darin and Amy Phillips of Mount Pulaski. She was perfectly happy and normal and passed all her tests.
A short time before Christmas, her family noticed a change in her and she was taken to OSF in Peoria for tests. Scans of her brain showed a mass encompassing her brain stem. In an operation, as much of the tumor was removed as possible. Further tests showed the tumor to be malignant and very aggressive. With the type of tumor coupled with Annabelle’s size there are no treatment options available.
Annabelle is currently recovering at home with the help of home hospice care where she can be held, hugged and loved for her remaining time with her mom and dad and older sister.
The run/walk is being held to help the Phillips family with medical expenses brought on by their daughter’s condition. The cost is $10. Anyone who wants to contribute to the Phillips family or wishes to offer help should contact Angie Cyrulik at 217-962-1055.
The form for the race, on the left, can be saved and then printed out in full size for those interested in joining the race or just making a donation to the family.
