December 29, 2012, By Mike Fak, Deron Powell, State Farm agent in Mt. Pulaski, has added Colan Eigenbrod to his office staff. Eigenbrod is a native Lincolnite. His parents are John and Dianne Eigenbrod.

Colan is a graduate of LCHS and Lincoln College. He received his degree in business administration from McMurray College this past spring.

Colan said he contemplated getting into the insurance field and when the opportunity arose at the Powell agency, he decided to interview for the job. Colan said the State Farm philosophy of looking at agents in State Farm offices to eventually branch out into their own agency was a real attraction to him deciding on this career path.

Powell confirmed that although he hopes to have Colan for many years, the training and experience he will receive at his agency will give Colan an opportunity to eventually run his own office.

Right now Eigenbrod is concentrating on preparing for his Property and Casualty and Life and Health exams to obtain his producer's licenses in Illinois.
