December 29, 2012 by Marla Blair, The City of Lincoln’s street department will pick up discarded Christmas trees from Monday, January 7 through Friday, January 11, one ward per day throughout the week; in numerical order - Ward One through Ward Five.

The following guidelines have been announced by Tracy Jackson, department supervisor: Trees must be cleaned of all decorations and wiring and cannot be in a bag; wreaths will also be taken, but decorations and wiring must be removed.

Christmas trees must be laying at the front of the yard and ready to be picked up by 7 a.m. on the morning of your ward’s designated day. Questions may be addressed to the street department, 732-4655, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday -Friday.
