Cyclists against child abuse make pit stop at Anytime Fitness Lincoln
October 21, 2013, Slideshow By Mike Fak, Anytime Fitness Lincoln at 716 N Logan hosted a resting point for cyclists as they made their way from Chicago to St. Louis. Called "Stop the Cycle" the event is a six-stage bicycle ride created to raise awareness of child abuse issues and raise funds to help Children's Advocacy Centers across Illinois. During the ride, participants of all levels travel across the State of Illinois along historic Route 66 for approximately 60 miles per day over six days.
Riders may choose to ride in single stage in their geographic area, participate in multiple stages or even ride in the entire Stop the Cycle event from it's start in Northwest Cook county on October 16th to it's conclusion in St. Louis, Missouri on October 21st for a total of 360 miles.
Anytime Fitness provided restroom facilities, fresh fruit and vegetables and healthy sandwiches and water that was much appreciated by the cyclists.
