Lutheran Clergy come to Lincoln
October 2, 2013, Slideshow By Mike Fak, There has been a lot of activity around Zion Lutheran Church the past few days. This year the Fall Pastors' Conference has been held at the church and 150 clergy from Northwestern to Southeastern Central Illinois have come to Lincoln.
This year's theme was Evangelism in the light of the Gospel and had guest lecturers, Heath R. Curtis and Joel Okamoto speak to the group in the church's hall.
The gatherings also allow for the Lutheran pastors to visit with others pastors, discuss common concerns and solutions and to help develop stronger bonds with clergy in Lutheran churches throughout Central Illinois.
IGA provided the fried chicken, ham and potato salad for Tuesday's lunch and Stuffed-Aria provided pizzas Monday night. There were also IGA brats on Tuesday to give the visitors a good taste of local food. The Ladies Aid, in their new purple aprons, provided all the desserts, the big salad and preparations. Many in attendance said they were enjoying their time in Lincoln and were enjoying the friendly folks they were meeting. The conference wraps up October 2.
