Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District receives donation
September 14, 2013, Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District recently received a donation of equipment from Jim Doherty of Emergency Products and Research. The donation will increase the equipment options during an emergency call, ensuring that Lincoln Rural continues to provide up-to-date medical care. The donation included the following equipment:
Rescu-Air Child Transport Seat
This seat uses air to create a safety seat for infant and pediatric patients, while being able to be collapsed for easy storage when not in use.
Vacuum Splint System
Splints of different sizes used for immobilization due to fracture of extremity by conforming to the current position.
Used to prevent spinal damage after a fall or accident
This device is used for securing a patient to the backboard.
Also used for spinal immobilization, but this mattress is designed to conform to the natural voids in a patient’s body.
Improved Traction Device
This device is primarily used to put traction on the lower extremity during an upper leg fracture.
Currently, all members are being trained on the new equipment. Once training is completed these items will be added to the equipment carried on board rescue units operated by Lincoln Rural Fire.
