Oasis fundraising breakfast Sunday, September 8
September 4, 2013, The Herald, The Lincoln American Legion Post 263, is well known for their breakfast buffets and after the summer off, they begin again this Sunday, September 8.
The first worthy cause of the year supported by these breakfasts is for the Oasis Senior Center that burned on June 20, 2013. For every meal served, the Oasis will receive a portion of the proceeds. There will also be a pie auction at the breakfast and the fire photos turned into 13 by 19 inch prints will be available for sale that morning in the Mary Pat room.
Thanks to the sponsorship of The Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce, The Economic Development Partnership, Illinois American Water, Mayor Keith Snyder, Heritage Packaging and the Logan County Herald, the first 500 prints have been paid for. The photography for the prints was by Jim Grimaldi, Tim Butterfield and Mike Fak. The price for each print is $10 with all the proceeds going to the Oasis. In all there are 17 different prints to choose from.
The legion’s signature all you can eat breakfast buffet includes, ham, IGA bacon, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruit and beverages. The price is only $8.00
The doors open at 8 am and the legion serves until 11:30.
You can purchase your tickets ahead of time at St. John UCC at 210 7th Street in Lincoln. Oasis staff are at the church daily from 9 am till 4 pm.
This is a great breakfast and a great cause and the community is encouraged to attend and show their support for our seniors.
