April 22, 2013, By Mike Fak, On Saturday Woven Together volunteers began repairing two family visitation rooms at the Youth and Family Solution Center in Lincoln.
The center has a modern facility throughout most of the building but the two rooms were in a state of much-needed repair and painting.
The Center for Youth and Family Solutions is the new name to the center that many will remember as Catholic Charities of Peoria. After Catholic Charities bowed out from accepting state aid, the new agency was formed to maintain the services previously provided locally by Catholic Charities.
The Center for Youth and Family Solutions is a comprehensive not-for-profit social service agency providing strength-based, family-centered services to youth and families in need throughout Central Illinois and Eastern Iowa.
The center offers critical counseling, casework, and support services to assist those whose lives have been touched by trauma, grief and loss, abuse and neglect, and other significant family life challenges. Their programs include: foster care services for abused and neglected children; adoption services; crisis response for runaways and their families; delinquency prevention services for at-risk youth; residential treatment for abused and neglected boys; professional counseling for children, individuals, couples, and families; in-home counseling for seniors; mental health crisis response for youth; and community advocacy programs.
