A 'Red Letter Day' for postcard collectors
April 8, 2013, Slideshow By Mike Fak, It wasn't the biggest crowd for an auction. But everyone on hand was a collector or dealer and the 300,000 plus postcard collection made for a rare chance to find and buy so many cards at one location. The cards were owned by Charlotte Key of rural Elkhart, who died in 2010 at age 95. The collection is a combination of postcards she purchased or was given and ones she inherited from her mother, Mary Edwards of Mount Pulaski, who died in 1989 at age 99. Mike Maske handled the auction and albums or boxes of cards went from $30 to $400 depending on their age and interest.
